Finished in quintessential Rosso Corsa (Racing Red) over black, this 1974 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 is a first-series, European-specification example differentiated from later models via lightweight bumpers, aluminum hood, engine, and deck lid, twin distributors, and fog lamps mounted in the front valance. Additional optional equipment included a full leather interior and air-conditioning, unusual for the time.
Purchased by the current owner in 2016, this 308 was restored under the direction of All Ferrari Parts of Cleveland, Ohio. Mechanical work on the drivetrain was performed by NJB Automotive in Westerville, Ohio, and North Coast Exotics in Cleveland. Sharp Automotive Upholstery in Elyria, Ohio reupholstered the driver’s seat and replaced the carpeting using correct materials supplied by ReOriginals. Testifying to the quality of the work, this 308 GT4 received an Argento Award at the 2016 Ferrari Club of America National Meet. Since that time, this GT4 has continued to receive additional fettling and improvements.
As the marque’s first mid-engine V-8-powered road car, the Dino 308 GT4 has grown in significance, paving the way for future Ferrari models and becoming appreciated for its pioneering engineering and place in Ferrari’s history. Offered with its books, tools, and restoration and service records, this well-restored 308 GT4 must be one of the finest examples available.
