You’ve Never Seen a McLaren F1 as Perfect as This Before

The rare 1995 F1 may attract more than $15 million at auction

The rare 1995 F1 may attract more than $15 million at auction

This August, the official auction house of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Gooding & Company, will be selling one of the best examples of an ultimate supercar you’ve ever seen. Yep, that’s right –– we’re talking about the 1995 McLaren F1. Not only does this example have one of the most beautiful bodies you’ll ever see on a modern car, but its mesmerizing roar will stop you in your tracks. Let the drooling begin.

What’s so special about this car, you ask? It boasts the best engineering ever, to put it simply. The McLaren F1 was envisioned by designer Gordon Murray as the perfect roadcar to bring a Formula 1 experience to the street. It uniquely features a rare seat in the center of the car flanked by passenger seats on either side, a signature of the revered engineer.

The stunning car immediately made strides at its 1992 unveiling, where the F1 standards of state-of-the-art materials like carbon fiber, Kevlar, titanium, and even gold were used to make an exquisite body and engine. The engine itself offers a jaw-dropping 7,500 rpm redline, among other perks.

From 1992 to 1998, McLaren built only 106 examples of the F1. To This day, the F1 remains one of the fastest naturally aspirated production cars, with a top speed of 240 mph. As the most expensive production car when new, it is now one of the most desirable collector cars. It’s not hard to tell by looking at it, though.

In the spirit of its meticulous creation, it has been beautifully secreted away and maintained for years in a private collection, which makes it the lowest-mile F1 ever presented at auction. You can keep ogling here.

A McLaren F1 in such pristine condition has never been offered at auction before. Right now, you can register to bid on this stunning (and very fast, might we add) car with Gooding & Company.
