This 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Long Nose, equipped with enticing factory features and presented in outstanding unrestored condition, makes its auction debut.

Santa Monica, Calif. (July 27, 2020) – Gooding & Company, the auction house revered for selling the world’s most valuable collector cars, has officially opened bidder registration and released the full online catalogue for Geared Online. The esteemed auction house is also thrilled to announce an exceedingly rare opportunity to own a highly original, never before shown 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Long Nose. Quite possibly the most enviable steel-bodied 275 GTB in existence, this unrestored Ferrari makes its auction debut at Gooding & Company’s Geared Online sale running August 3-7.

“We are honored to present this significant 275 GTB Ferrari, which has long been unseen in the collector car market,” states David Gooding, President and Founder of Gooding & Company. “Having the chance to sell a magnificently preserved car with such unique and desirable factory equipment is truly exciting. This is certainly one of the finest 275s I have ever encountered.”

1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Long Nose (Estimate: $2,750,000 – $3,250,000)

The Pininfarina-designed 275 GTB Long Nose is one of the most sought-after and collectible road-going Ferraris. The remarkable example offered here combines the authentic mechanical specifications with seldom seen factory options, as it features the exclusive torque tube driveshaft, high-performance six-carburetor intake, and an exceedingly rare competition-style external fuel filler cap. This 275 GTB’s distinctive appearance is further highlighted by its attractive, one-off color scheme of Bianco over beige leather.

Among the very last 275 GTBs produced, chassis 08921 was sold new to Pier Luigi Perri in Genova, and it remained in Italy until 1969, when it was sold to Ferrari’s North American distributor, Luigi Chinetti Motors of Greenwich, Connecticut. A limited roster of knowledgeable enthusiasts have owned this Ferrari since its arrival in the US, most recently possessed by a private collector in New Mexico, who acquired the car in 1995. Never before restored and showing just over 50,000 miles, this special 275 GTB remains in amazingly original and well-preserved condition. Not only does this Ferrari have a fantastic patina, it possesses highly coveted period accessories such as Marchal driving lights, a Blaupunkt radio, a Jaeger chronograph, a set of Campagnolo alloys and a set of Borrani wires.

Among the most iconic sports cars of all time, the 275 GTB combines the very best Ferrari attributes in one beautiful, well-rounded package. Not only is this particular car a refined, late-production example, its handsome color scheme and rare factory features make it one of the most exceptional steel-bodied 275 GTBs in existence. Offered with books, tools, two sets of wheels, and extensive documentation, eligible for countless events, and unmatched in its specification and condition, 08921 is truly a Ferrari fit for the connoisseur.
