Launched at the 1948 London Motor Show alongside the soon-to-become legendary XK120 roadster, the new Mk V was Jaguar’s new postwar flagship and marked an important evolutionary step leading up to the XK-powered Mk VII that debuted for 1951. With its refined and streamlined body design rendered completely in pressed steel, the Mk V included a new independent front suspension and modern hydraulic brakes. The Mk V retained the 2.5-litre and 3.5-litre overhead-valve inline six-cylinder engines of its predecessors, as well as the luxurious appointments Jaguar buyers had come to expect.

An unrestored barn find owned by a church and tucked away undisturbed for many years before the prior owner purchased it, this final-year Mk V from 1951 received a comprehensive professional restoration with no possible expense spared. Featuring excellent colors and craftsmanship, it has been driven less than 1,000 miles since the restoration was completed. Following acquisition by the consignor, it was enhanced by the Jaguar experts at Classic Showcase in Oceanside, California, with all systems reviewed and addressed as needed. It is well appointed with a beautiful and luxurious leather- and wood-trimmed interior and powered by the desirable, top-specification 3.5-litre engine. A JDHT Certificate and tool kit accompany the Mk V at auction. Very rare, especially in this fine restored condition, this 1951 Jaguar Mk V is ft for the discerning collector and ready to enjoy.
