The Jaguar presented here is an exciting “garage-find” example of one of the most iconic British sports cars of all time – the XK120.

According to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, this left-hand-drive Roadster was manufactured at Coventry on November 26, 1953 finished in Ivory with black leather upholstery and top. Dispatched that December, the Jaguar was originally retailed through Jaguar’s North American distributor Hoffman Motors of New York.

While the car’s earliest history is not recorded, several plaques affixed to the dashboard and a period road map found in the door pocket suggest that this XK120 was formerly owned by an Ohio-based sports car enthusiast. Many of these plaques, issued by the Cleveland Sports Car Club (CSCC), attest to this car’s participation in several rallies, economy runs, and concours d’elegance held between 1961 and 1963.

Recently discovered by the consignor in a South Carolina garage, this XK120 Roadster appears to be a relatively original and complete example, though it has not been run or driven in decades. Displaying 64,186 miles when catalogued, the Jaguar retains its factory data and body tags, and the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate confirms the engine as the original, matching-numbers unit.

Presented today in as-found condition, this long-hidden XK120 Roadster is a perfect candidate for a complete show-quality restoration, hot-rod build, or a comprehensive mechanical re-commissioning, readying it for use in the numerous rallies and concours events for which it is eligible.

*Please note that this vehicle has been in long-term static storage and may not be currently operational. It will require mechanical attention prior to road use.
