When Franklin Q. Hershey was commissioned by Ford to create a new and highly stylized silhouette in the 1950s, the result was the flamboyant Fairlane Crown Victoria with its elegant chrome “tiara” detailing.

Recently acquired from the estate of Jim Miller, this lovely example is finished in Buckskin Brown and Snowshoe White. Restored under Mr. Miller’s ownership from a solid California car, extra care was taken to ensure correct panel fit and the engine compartment was superbly detailed. This Fairlane features numerous options, including Select Aire air-conditioning, power steering, brakes, seat and windows, a Ford-O-Matic transmission, AM radio, rear fender skirts, stainless wire hubcaps, correct bias-ply whitewall tires, and Westinghouse bumper-mounted driving lights.

The current owner reports that the Fairlane has been driven less than 500 miles since restoration. The majority of those were reportedly accumulated either on test drives or on the show fields at the Meadow Brook Concours in 2009, and the Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada Concours in 2010, where the Fairlane scored 99 points.

This superb Ford Fairlane offers a unique opportunity to own an outstanding example of a mid-century beauty with tremendous potential for enjoyment at driving and concours events alike.
