This beautiful little MGA 1500 Roadster is believed to have been first sold to Mr. George M. Innes of Cortland, New York, whose name remained as the registered owner until a few years ago, when the car was acquired by EM Motors, an MG specialist in Stanley, New York. EM carried out a comprehensive, bare-metal, body-off restoration that is documented by numerous photos taken during the process. Upon completion, the MGA was sold to its current owner.
During restoration, the car was painted Iris Blue, a beautiful color used from 1959 through 1965 on later MGAs and MGBs. The wire wheels were refinished in the correct factory silver paint and the interior has been refurbished using Navy Blue leather and correct carpeting. This MGA has also been rebuilt mechanically, with a fresh engine, gearbox, rear axle, and suspension. The front brakes have been up-rated with a set of discs from a later MGA, and the electrical system has been converted to modern 12-volt. The odometer displayed 73,354 miles at the time of cataloguing, believed by the consignor to be original. Included are a new top, a set of side curtains, tool roll, jack and spare wheel, and an engine crank.
Here is a lovely MGA Roadster, in an attractive color scheme, ready for the multitude of events for which these cars are eligible.
