Among the most coveted of all mid-century American cars is the Chrysler 300, and for good reason. Dramatic, cutting-edge Virgil Exner styling combined with luxury, brute power, and a limited-production run make the 300D as desirable today as it was when new. The legendary 392 “Hemi” engine, breathing through two four-barrel carburetors, developed an impressive 380 bhp, and the 300’s advanced torsion-bar front suspension provided excellent handling characteristics.

In Chrysler’s letter series, the 300D was reserved for 1958 models; that also was the last year for the 392 “Hemi” engine. This Raven Black 300D is complemented by an elegant tan leather interior that features factory-equipped six-way power front seats, power steering, power windows, and an Electro-Touch Tuner AM radio. It emerged from a complete frame-off restoration in 2012, and has accumulated less than 400 miles since then. The no-expense-spared restoration, which included the frame being properly chemical dipped and refinished, was commissioned by Darryl Binkerd of Stevensville, Montana. Attention to detail is evident throughout, such as in the use of the correct paint finish and materials, and the result of the restoration is stunning. The current owner has recently had the car properly sorted, and reports it is a pleasure to drive.

This 300D is ideally suited to drive on tours in comfort and style, or for display at shows and club events.
