In 1955, the long-awaited Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud was introduced and enthusiastically received by eager buyers. The Silver Cloud was vastly different from former models and with its evolution, the Silver Cloud II, Rolls-Royce introduced an all-new V-8 engine.
This example, finished in rare Cellon Blue, was sold by Rolls-Royce dealer Hermann Albers to the current owner’s father in 1970. In the consignor’s care, this highly original car has been well preserved and regularly enjoyed for the past five decades. The original, off-white Connolly leather interior complements the blue paintwork beautifully. Other interior appointments include air-conditioning and electric windows. The consignor believes that the Cellon Blue paintwork is largely original, and as such, this lovely example displays an expected patina through its decades of gentle use. Never a show car, it was instead a valued member of the family. Voluminous files indicate the maintenance performed through the years. The Silver Cloud is still accompanied by the original, leather-bound owner’s manual, set of road tools and hand tools in their fitted tray, jack, tire pump, and inspection lamp.
This original Silver Cloud II has remained a favorite of the current family for its elegant design and luxurious appointments. Now ready to meet its fortunate new owner, this Rolls-Royce is sure to be welcomed at Rolls-Royce Owner’s Club events and local shows.
