Concours-Level Restoration in Original Colors
This Bolero Red 1967 Chevelle SS, featuring its matching-numbers engine, is a true standout among its peers. It has the distinction of being one of the best-documented, most fastidiously researched and most carefully restored examples in existence. An astonishing file of photos, receipts, original tags and cards, as well as fascinating written correspondence from previous owners, illuminate the complete story of this remarkable Chevelle. Stated by the consignor to retain nearly all of its original sheet metal and the vast majority of its original interior, it is imbued with the inimitable feel of an as-delivered car.
The Chevelle’s restoration was carried out by Brian Priore of North Ridgeville, Ohio, for the consignor in 2007 and 2008. Factory stampings and casting dates have been decoded and recorded to further document the integrity of the car and its components. In 2010, the Chevelle was submitted for judging at the Chevy/Vettefest Nationals in Chicago, where it earned an amazing 988 out of 1,000 points. Also worthy of special mention are the very rare, code J52 power front disc brakes that have remained on the car since new.
Gooding & Company is proud to offer this remarkable red lacquer on red vinyl Chevelle SS. It is one of the finest of its type, and your close inspection of the car and its supporting documentation file is encouraged.
