Constructed at the St. Louis assembly plant on May 8, 1967, during the final year of C2 model production, this Corvette Roadster was factory equipped with the potent L79 327/350 solid-lifter V-8 engine and four-speed manual gearbox. Originally finished in highly desirable Rally Red with matching red interior and optioned with a matching red auxiliary hardtop and AM/FM radio, this car was delivered new to “Z” Frank Chevrolet, the well-known Chicago-area dealership.

The Corvette’s first owner was V. Faraci of Morton Grove, Illinois, but after a few years the car relocated to Southern California. Records on file indicate that the Corvette was owned by Sergio Muniz of Santa Ana, California, for many years and registered until the mid-1990s, when it was retired from regular use. In 2015, the car was sold to the current owner, a passionate collector whose stable is comprised solely of original, well-preserved automobiles.

Presented today in as-found unrestored condition, this Corvette is a time capsule example. It displays a consistent patina throughout and possesses charming period details including a “Z” Frank Chevrolet decal affixed to the hardtop glass. Offered with its original Protect-O-Plate, owner’s manual, and NCRS Shipping Data Report, as well as a file of registration and insurance records dating back to the 1980s, this is a particularly well-documented Corvette in a hard-to-duplicate specification that ought to appeal to either the preservation-minded enthusiast or the collector in search of an ideal candidate for restoration.
