1967 Chevrolet Corvette 427/435 Roadster

As the last of the Stingrays, the 1967 Corvette featured a host of subtle cosmetic refinements and offered more power than ever, with a variety of 427 cid big blocks topping the list of engine options. This remarkably preserved Roadster exemplifies the final Stingray’s brilliance, claiming impressive documentation and consistent care by a single owner for 44 years.

Delivered new through famed Corvette dealer Malcolm Konner Chevrolet, this 1967 Roadster was desirably specified with the 435 hp L71 V-8 engine, F41 heavy-duty suspension, Positraction rear axle, off-road exhaust system, Kelsey Hayes bolt-on wheels, and a hardtop. As stated in the original purchase contract, the roadster was bought in late 1967 by Corvette enthusiast Robert Budnik of Connecticut. An aircraft engineer with Pratt & Whitney, Mr. Budnik enjoyed his Corvette as a daily driver, yet maintained it in pristine, showroom condition. Even his wife was asked to remove her shoes during drives.

Following Mr. Budnik’s passing in 2011, the Stingray sat in storage for several years before being acquired by the consignor, and it displayed approximately 42,000 miles at the time of cataloguing. Offered with a wealth of original documentation – including the Protect-O-Plate, owner’s manuals, I.D. card, purchase contract, tank and window sticker, along with numerous period photographs – this highly optioned, time capsule Corvette is sure to impress any collector with an interest in well preserved, unrestored automobiles.
