This beautifully presented coupe is one of a limited number delivered to the US and is believed by its current owner to have had only two known previous owners. The 280 SE Coupe was built from 1967 through 1971 with a total production of 3,797 and featured some minor upgrades made to its much-admired predecessor, the 250 SE.
This Mercedes-Benz has been well cared for and maintained, as can be seen by its outstanding presentation throughout. It is accompanied by an extensive service file with scores of receipts and invoices, many made out to Tim Higgins of New Jersey who owned the car from approximately 1993 to 2002. In 2013, the car was restored and repainted by its current owner in its original Tunis Beige Metallic (DB 462) with a Black (DB 040) roof and matching hubcaps. The interior was reupholstered in black leather, and new wool carpet and interior wood trim were installed.
This lovely 280 SE Coupe is an excellent emissary of the quality and design expertise of Mercedes-Benz, offering the comfort, reliability, and status of a modern classic. Ideal for marque gatherings, local shows, and weekend outings, this striking coupe is a versatile classic, perfect for the casual enthusiast and seasoned collectors alike.
