From the Collection of Lee Weinstein

The Mercedes-Benz 280 SL, the most refined example of the famed W113 series, was an elegant roadster built from 1968 through 1971. Regarded as a comfortable grand touring car, its optional hardtop had a slightly concave roof, inspiring the “pagoda” designation. The 280 SL’s responsive 170 hp engine, sophisticated suspension, stylish stance, and impressive pedigree made it an eye-catching presence on the road.

This 280 SL was one of just 830 built in 1971, the final year of production for the beloved model. Lee Weinstein acquired this classic Mercedes-Benz several years ago from a specialist in Palm Springs, California, where the car spent many years.

Wonderfully presented in its original color scheme of ivory white with black upholstery, this late-production SL is equipped with both soft- and hardtops, a period-correct Becker Europa radio and optional air-conditioning. In recent years, the car has been carefully maintained with replacement parts sourced as needed from the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Irvine, California. Service and owner’s manuals accompany the sale of the 280 SL, along with an impressive file of maintenance records.

For the enthusiast seeking an appealing, nicely appointed, and well-maintained 280 SL, this fine example should not be overlooked.
