This highly original 1973 911 T is an outstanding example finished in the rare and very attractive special-order color of Leaf Green. The 911 was purchased new at Gardner Motors in Bernardsville, New Jersey. Its original owner kept it for 38 years until 2011. The current owner, a discriminating and enthusiastic collector of Porsches, acquired the car in 2015.
According to a report on file and available for review by noted Porsche expert Cole Scrogham, the Porsche is still matched to its original engine, and is a very rare original paint vehicle. Mr. Scrogham based his opinion on paint meter readings and by noting the characteristics of the paint and body common to the era. His report also notes the interior’s original condition, with the exception of the front seats, which were reupholstered in proper period leatherette. Further emphasizing the car’s originality, the report notes that it even retains its original door-mounted ID label, an item that is often chipped away or removed altogether during a repaint.
The consignor had the Porsche serviced by Mr. Scrogham in 2015, and in 2017 had new Pirelli CN36 tires installed and a full paint correction and ceramic coating completed. Commensurate with its original condition, the Porsche retains its original tools, jack, Webster tire pump, and its original manuals and odometer statement. With under 75,000 miles on the odometer at the time of cataloguing and featuring the updated CIS injection system brought in mid-1973, this is an exceptional 911 2.4 T and a rare find in such original condition.
