The Toyota FJ was Japan’s answer to the British Land Rover and American Jeep beginning in the early 1950s. With its small chassis and virtually indestructible engine, transmission, and suspension, it quickly established itself as a go-to vehicle to tackle daunting territory. It was called upon for use in military, police, rescue, and recreational applications.
Toyota did not rest on the initial accomplishment of its formidable 4x4 vehicle. Through the years, the FJ40 was strengthened and improved piece by piece, making later-model FJs even more robust.
The FJ40 on offer is finished in red with a white top and fresh black interior. According to the consignor, this ruggedly handsome example was the subject of a comprehensive body-off mechanical and cosmetic restoration. To ensure the quality and accuracy of the finished project, OEM Toyota parts were used wherever replacements were necessary. The end result is a tidy and cheerful vehicle that is willing to handle city driving or more adventurous excursions.
The consignor recently spent considerable time and effort to ensure this resilient little Toyota will provide a gratifying driving experience to its new owner. This is a beautifully presented classic FJ40 that exemplifies why these trucks are so beloved.
