This incredible 308 GTS has led a unique and charmed existence in the hands of only two fastidious owners from new. Original owner Gordon Grey took delivery of his new 308 GTS in August 1979 at Yonge Steeles Motors Ltd. in Thornhill, Ontario. Finished in the rare shade of Rosso Dino, this stunning machine was used sparingly by Mr. Grey before it was sold to the consignor on June 19, 1993, showing just over 5,000 km (3,100 miles) from new.
Upon purchase, the well-preserved 308 was put into climate-controlled storage, where it would remain for most of the next 22 years, being removed only for careful use and servicing. In 2005, it was noticed that the factory paint was starting to craze, so the car was completely refinished at a cost of $14,980. Since being acquired by the consignor, this well-loved Ferrari has been treated to nearly $20,000 in servicing and driven approximately 800 km (500 miles). The latest example of this impressive care was a major service, with belts, done in March 2015 by former Ferrari F1 mechanic Massimo Conti at Daytona Auto Center and totaling $12,607.
Fully documented from new, said by the consignor to retain its original tires, interior, engine, gearbox, and accessories, and showing approximately 5,800 km (3,600 miles) at the time of cataloguing, this Ferrari 308 GTS is surely among the finest in existence.
