A performance icon of its age, the 930 – produced continuously from 1975 to 1989 – is considered by many to be one of the most important Porsche models ever produced. Throughout production, the 930 was constantly refined and received updates that improved driveability. By 1979, the engine had been enlarged to 3.3 liters, and the rear spoiler was redesigned to accommodate an intercooler and to increase down-force. Improved brakes, derived from the 917 racing car, provided greater stopping power. The 930 could hit 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds, en route to a lofty 160 mph top speed.
This very special 930 remains in highly original and unmodified condition, presenting beautifully throughout with original upholstery and one high-quality repaint in its correct paint-to-sample color of Sienna Metallic. According to the consignor, the striking exterior color was ordered to match the hair color of the original owner’s girlfriend. Showing just 52,000 miles from new, it has been carefully maintained and regularly serviced. With its matching-numbers engine, as documented by an accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this 930 is equipped with desirable factory options such as sport seats and an electric sunroof, and is offered with books, tool kit, jack, accessories, and service records.
A distinctive and particularly well-cared-for example of the iconic 3.3-liter 930, this superb car is sure to impress the most discerning Porsche collector.
