Debuting in 1980, Toyota’s FJ60 series retained the off-road capabilities of the utilitarian FJ40 series, with the added interior space and comfort needed to compete in the rising sport utility market. Upgraded cloth interiors, air-conditioning, and rear heating systems were introduced to impart comfort in an otherwise rugged vehicle.

This FJ60 Land Cruiser presents beautifully in its original shade of Sky Blue Metallic and has benefited from a major refurbishment in the care of its current owner, a noted specialist on the model. Comprehensive work included a professional trim-off and glass-out repaint in the Land Cruiser’s original color. The frame has also been refinished and the wheel wells are freshly undercoated. A rarely seen original AM/FM radio has been installed, along with a factory-correct inclinometer, which was not offered on models bound for the North American market. Additionally, the European-market exterior mirrors eliminate the mirror shake common to the US units.

A new windshield and rare OEM window rubber have been installed, and the interior features correct materials throughout, with an uncommonly intact dashboard, and proper cloth seat and door panel inserts. The engine bay has been thoroughly detailed and features correct finishes, decals, and rare and proper fittings. The owner reports that all options function properly and the updated air-conditioning blows cold. The FJ60 has emerged as a highly collectible model in recent years, and this pampered example stands ready to thrill its next owner.
