From A Private Ferrari Spider Collection
Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1982 in GTS and GTB editions, the Quattrovalvole was named for its three-liter eight-cylinder engine with four valves per cylinder – making this car a 32-valve powerhouse. The new configuration summoned 230 hp, and, although built for three years, only 3,800 examples were made. This US-specification GTS Quattrovalvole, featuring a removable targa-style top, left the factory in November 1984 in iconic Ferrari Rosso (Red) over black with red accents, and was fitted with air-conditioning and power windows. While the exterior is straight, superbly aligned, and believed by the consignor to present approximately 90% original paint, the interior sports fresh leather and carpeting. The original Campagnolo wheels and chin spoiler complete the aesthetics, and the factory manuals, tool roll, top cover, and emergency pouch are all present and correct.
Driven sparingly and showing 34,000 miles at the time of cataloguing, as per CARFAX and AutoCheck Vehicle History Reports, this GTS underwent a major service in 2014, and in late 2019 received further maintenance and belt service.
This GTS features its body number (190) stamped on its front and rear panels, underlining its honesty and originality, and comes with a seemingly unused spare assembly. Highly sought after by Enzo-era purists, the Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole offered here is exceptional – as substantiated by its inclusion in this outstanding Ferrari Spider Collection.
