Long revered as the standard of sports car excellence, Porsche’s 3.2-liter 911 line reached its ultimate expression in August 1986 with the release of the H Series models. Featuring revised engine tuning and the highly desirable Getrag G50 gearbox, these naturally aspirated 911s now delivered the performance of the vaunted 1976 Turbo.
Completed on April 9, 1987, and finished in rare Venetian Blue paint and Linen/ Marine Beige leather upholstery, this 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera was factory-equipped with 15 options comprehensively addressing appearance, comfort, convenience, and performance.
Sold new in Boston and remaining in Massachusetts through August 2015, it clearly benefits from caring, long-term ownership, with less than 11,900 documented miles accumulated at the time of cataloguing. An iconic Turbo-style tail was professionally mounted to the original engine cover, and the Carrera’s interior, engine compartment, and underside are in excellent condition, with the car continuing to ride on its original Dunlop tires. In addition to a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the Carrera is accompanied by CARFAX and Auto Check reports documenting its low mileage and history; the original owner’s manual and warranty and maintenance booklet; and tool kit. An extensive 25-hour top to bottom detailing was recently completed on this very special Carrera, which is simply ideal for continued enjoyment at Porsche Club concours and events.
