Coachwork by Pininfarina
Unveiled at the 1984 Paris Motor Show, the Testarossa was a departure for Ferrari. While still boasting a mid-mounted flat-12 engine, the Pininfarina design was outrageously low and wide, and featured distinctive side strakes. Making numerous appearances in pop culture, most notably as the hero car during the third season of Miami Vice and Sega’s arcade game OutRun, the Testarossa became Ferrari’s best-selling 12-cylinder model to date.
Finished in dramatic white over white leather interior, this US-specification Testarossa is a 1988 1/2 model that included updates such as a revised suspension, five-bolt wheels, and dual door-mounted mirrors. Registering 31,100 miles on its odometer – but appearing in many ways like a car with a tenth of that mileage – this Testarossa presents in wonderfully preserved original condition throughout, with the leather dashboard especially notable for exhibiting no shrinkage.
Maintained in road-ready condition, this Testarossa comes with a file of documentation including service records dating from 1992, recording its care and maintenance. More recently, this Testarossa received a major engine-out service, including cam belts, performed by marque specialist Daytona Auto Centre in Ontario, Canada, in December 2018, and less than 400 miles ago. Accompanied by its books, tool roll, jack, and luggage set, this iconic Testarossa deserves serious consideration and should please the most discerning of collectors.
