This late production Ferrari 328 GTB is the final evolution of the iconic 308-based series. The model received minor exterior revisions by Pininfarina that softened the angularity of the previous-generation 308. The grille was brought forward to revise and update the 328’s nose, and the bumpers were body-colored. The Ferrari 328 GTB was built with a 3.2-liter V-8 with a power output of 260 bhp and a top speed of 163 mph.
Ferrari introduced the 328 GTB in 1985 at the Frankfurt Motor Show to widespread acclaim. This particular example is from the final year of production and is presented in its original and highly desirable color combination of Rosso Corsa over tan leather. The car was delivered new to well-known Ferrari authority Ed Wettach III, one of a select few original factory-authorized franchise owners in North America. A portfolio of documentation, including the original owner’s manual and maintenance booklet, accompany this Ferrari. Service records support the mileage and indicate extensive preventative maintenance, including its so-called 30,000-mile service at just 19,891 miles in 2010.
Presented today with less than 22,300 miles, this five-speed Ferrari 328 GTB is one of the finest Gran Turismo Berlinettas available. As one of only 1,344 Ferrari 328 GTBs built – in addition to having notable early ownership and being one of the very few remaining in such an impressive all-round condition – this is a much coveted and collectible Ferrari.
