To celebrate the silver anniversary of the Porsche 911, 1989’s Carrera Speedster variant was launched with a redesigned windshield and soft-top frame, creating an aggressively lowered stance reminiscent of the revered 356 Speedster. The single-year production total was just 2,104, and this beautifully presented example is one of only 823 Speedsters that were exported new to the US.
Delivered in Grand Prix White with a tan interior, this Speedster is believed to have resided with its original owner until 1991, when it was sold to George Tam of Los Altos, California, showing only 1,300 miles. The current owner acquired the 911 in 2015, and today it registers just over 8,700 miles at the time of cataloguing.
This Speedster presents with comparatively low mileage and in lovely original condition. The consignor believes the interior leather and exterior finish are original and states that it operates well. The Speedster has previously received a Used Car Check by Porsche of South Shore in New York, and, in 2017, a multi-point inspection was performed by Porsche Plano of Texas.
This rare 911 comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche and factory-correct owner’s manuals, tools, jack, and air compressor. This 1989 Speedster offers a special opportunity to own a beautifully presented reprise of one of Porsche’s earliest icons.
