From A Private Ferrari Spider Collection
Designed by Pininfarina, the Ferrari 348 was the last of designer Leonardo Fioravanti’s masterpieces and the culmination of years of evolution of the much-admired Dino and 308/328 series. The 348 boasted the powerful 3.4-liter V-8 engine, centrally placed for equilibrium, and new stability control with ABS system to help halter the 171 mph top speed.
This 348 was completed in October 1990, and driven home by John Pennington of Lake Forest, Illinois, in early 1991. The car was inherited in 2006 by John’s son, Brian, who commissioned an extensive service with only 3,700 miles on the odometer. In 2014, Mr. Pennington sold the Ferrari with just 4,600 miles to Don Mackey, who submitted the car for a major belt and mechanical service. The consignor, the fourth owner, obtained the 348 in 2016 and maintains it in a climate-controlled environment to preserve its pristine, unrestored, and highly original condition.
Unique for its original paintwork and interior, this exceptionally low-mileage 348 is accompanied by a comprehensive portfolio of documents with the original window sticker, purchase paperwork, receipts, and correspondence, as well as service records. The original tool kit and complete leather folio are present along with both sets of keys, dealer brochure, workshop manual, and car cover. Additional documentation on file includes CARFAX and AutoCheck Vehicle History Reports.
This Ferrari 348 with its low mileage, original condition, documented provenance, and abundant accessories comes highly recommended to the most fastidious of Ferrari collectors.
