The Type 964 America Roadster was a limited-edition convertible designed for the American market with the wide fender flares, suspension, brakes, and 17" Porsche Cup wheels common to the 911 Turbo. The rear seats were replaced in favor of a parcel shelf with storage compartments underneath, and the wide bodywork gave the America Roadster a unique, aggressive appearance.
This striking 964 America Roadster wide-body is one of just 250 built. Factory finished in Amazon Green Metallic with contrasting extra-cost supple leather in Classic Gray, it was delivered new to its first owner, noted “Youngtimer” collector Theodore Shasta, on March 31, 1993, via Hendrick Porsche in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was desirably optioned with heated power seats, Porsche Classic stereo with navigation, original Porsche CR-1 radio with CD changer, and a limited-slip differential.
Remarkably, this Porsche has accrued a mere 8,300 miles from new, virtually all by its attentive original owner, and presents today in pristine condition. Accompanying this rare Roadster are the original owner’s manuals and folio, original maintenance booklet, spare keys, original window sticker, and an extensive file including recent major servicing, during which it received new tires. Stunningly beautiful, powerful and poised, rare and freshly serviced, this exceptional modern classic is ideally suited for spirited open-air driving in a style exclusive to the 964 America Roadster.
