Unveiled at the 1991 Geneva Motor Show, the new Continental R was the most expensive production car in the world at the time; the luxurious coupe evoked the grace and elegance of its predecessors while appearing modern. Launched in 1996, the more sporting Continental T featured a shorter wheelbase, stiffer suspension, flared wheel arches, larger brakes, and additional power for the 6.75-litre turbocharged V-8 engine. Performance was outstanding in spite of its size with 0–60 mph in just over six seconds and a governed top speed of 155 mph.
Displaying less than 6,800 miles from new, this Bentley Continental T is finished in Blue Sequin Mica over Sandstone Connolly leather and Alcantara interior. One of 14 Regional Special Editions (RSE) built, it shares identical mechanical specifications to other 1998 Continental Ts, but features 18" chrome wheels, Burr Walnut wood veneers, color-keyed exterior trim, Alpine navigation system, an electrically operated rear window blind, and special interior embellishments. The recipient of a fluid service in November 2019, this car is accompanied by its books, keys, and jack kit, which helpfully includes white gloves and a bottle of mineral oil.
An opportunity not to be missed, this time capsule condition Continental T offers a sporting driving experience while retaining Bentley’s finest luxury appointments.
