Coachwork by Pininfarina
Debuting at the 1994 Geneva Motor Show, the F355 replaced the 348 as Ferrari’s mid-engine V-8 model. Penned by longtime collaborator Pininfarina, the general shape of the new model seemed familiar, but design emphasis for the F355 was placed on improved performance and comfort.
The engine, gearbox, and suspension received upgrades. Making use of five-valve cylinder heads and titanium connecting rods, the 3.5-liter V-8 produced 375 hp at a lofty 8,250 rpm. The gearbox gained a sixth gear while electronically adjustable shocks varied stiffness to suit the road surface. Around Ferrari’s Fiorano test track, the Ferrari F355 was almost two seconds faster than the 12-cylinder 512 TR.
This 1998 F355 Spider is finished in gorgeous Grigio Titanio Metallizzato (Titanium Gray Metallic) over a Nero (Black) leather interior. Having traveled just 15,400 miles at the time of cataloguing, and appearing nearly showroom fresh, this F355 presents extremely well. Illustrating this Spider’s care, the car is accompanied by a binder of service records dating back to 1999, as well as its books, tools, tire inflator, and cover.
Equipped with the six-speed manual gearbox for a more connected driving experience, this low-mileage F355 Spider should please the most discerning collector on a concours field or the open road.
