At the 1994 Geneva Auto Show, Ferrari introduced its latest rear-engine eight-cylinder model. The new F355 featured a larger engine and numerous chassis refinements, with handsome styling that departed from the 348’s Testarossa-influenced design.
Longtime Car and Driver editor Csaba Csere wrote, “This 355 is easily the best eight-cylinder Ferrari I’ve ever driven. Previous 308-348 models have delivered full measures of the Ferrari image and excitement, but they have been wanting in the behind-the-wheel qualities on which the marque’s sterling sporty image was built. … These blemishes have been comprehensively rectified in the 355. Finally, we have a V-8 Ferrari worthy of the prancing horse.”
This Ferrari is one of 100 F355 Spiders equipped as Serie Fiorano cars, the limited premium edition that was built during the F355’s final year of production. Offering a host of standard equipment from the 355 Challenge race car, the Fiorano features carbon fiber interior trim, mesh rear grille, heavy-duty suspension, red brake calipers, and Scuderia shields on the front fenders.
This desirably maintained Spider underwent a complete servicing in late 2013 from an authorized Ferrari dealer, including a new clutch, tires, battery, and timing-belt service. Particularly handsome in the distinctive silver over black color scheme and outfitted with a desirable Tubi exhaust system, this limited-edition F355 may be shown at marque events or enjoyed for its pure performance.
