Ferrari introduced the 575M in 2002 as the successor to its popular 550 Maranello. Like the 550, it was a two-passenger GT with a front-mounted V-12 engine and sported an elegant Pininfarina design, but the 575M included many modifications under the skin, hence the “M” for Modificata. Enlarged to 5.75 liters, the V-12 produced 508 hp and enabled the 575M to sprint to 60 mph in approximately four seconds and top out at over 200 mph. Other changes included a revamped interior, an adaptive suspension, and aerodynamic tweaks.
The Ferrari 575M offered here is one of the rare examples equipped with a six-speed manual transaxle. Just 246 so-equipped examples were delivered worldwide, and according to the consignor, only 84 were sent to the US. This 575M has been fastidiously maintained and underwent a comprehensive service at Ferrari of Atlanta less than 2,000 miles ago, including belt and fluid changes, to maintain its superb condition. It also features the optional Daytona-style seats, Fiorano handling package, leather rear shelf, and high-power audio system with subwoofer. Accompanied at sale by manuals and books in their leather case, a car cover, and recent service records, this 575M offers the driving enthusiast a rare opportunity to acquire a modern classic Ferrari that is equally adept at thrilling its driver on a winding road as it is comfortably traversing the interstate on a cross-country trip.
