A world record for a Ferrari Enzo sold at auction.

Completed in February 2003, this Ferrari Enzo is the 27th US-specification example built. Finished in Rosso Corsa with black leather upholstery and carpeting, this Enzo was originally specified with optional red-faced gauges and larger seats.

One of two Enzos delivered to Continental Auto Sports in Hinsdale, Illinois, this car was immediately sold to a noted Chicago-area enthusiast with a passion for high-performance sports cars. As early as May 2003, Continental Auto Sports installed a factory-supplied four-point harness at the owner’s request and performed the first annual service. Existing records indicate that the original owner maintained the Enzo as needed and covered just over 1,000 miles during his two-year ownership.

In the summer of 2005, the Enzo was advertised for sale and quickly sold to famed Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose. After the Enzo was relocated to Southern California, the Auto Gallery of Woodland Hills continued to perform regular annual services regardless of mileage. In fact, between 2005 and 2009, the Enzo accumulated just 700 miles.

Since acquiring the Enzo in September 2009, the current owner has enjoyed its brilliant performance and exotic Pininfarina styling. In his care, the Enzo has been exercised regularly and treated to an annual service at Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Unlike many examples, this well-kept Enzo remains in its correct, as-delivered specification and presents beautifully in all areas. At the time of cataloguing, the odometer displayed just 2,215 miles, a figure that is consistent with its superior presentation and limited use. In addition to important factory-delivered accessories, such as the owner’s handbooks, tools, and luggage, this Enzo is offered with a collection of service records from Continental Auto Sports and Miller Motorcars, the original three-point seatbelts, and a CARFAX® report.

As the most significant road-going supercar in recent memory, many have predicted that the Ferrari Enzo will become the darling of future collectors. The new owner of this car may have the great pleasure of witnessing this forecast unfold in years to come while enjoying one of the most technically sophisticated and dynamically exhilarating automobiles to ever grace the road. These exceptional Ferraris reside in some of the world’s finest collections, and many Enzo owners have been so impressed with the performance, pedigree, character, and quality of these special cars that they have since added additional examples to their stables.

With its documented three-owner history, outstanding presentation, and low mileage, this US-specification Enzo is a splendid example of an important contemporary Ferrari and a prize for forward-thinking collectors.
