With the introduction of the Ferrari 458 Spider, the legendary Italian automaker delivered an uncompromising vision of an open variant of its latest mid-engine offering. Updated styling provided the car a clean look that allowed for more downforce and improved aerodynamics over the Ferrari 430. Featuring a system of retractable aluminum roof panels lighter than its cloth predecessor, the 458 Spider combines the appearance of a hardtop coupe and the enjoyment of a roadster in a stylish package reportedly capable of exceeding 200 mph.
The car offered here was special-ordered and sold new through Ferrari of San Diego. The extremely rare custom color scheme of California Azzurro with beige Daytona seats was selected for the car. A handsome color on the 458, Azzurro has added significance as a national color of Italy, dating to its use in the crest of the House of Savoy.
This example has received fastidious maintenance and recall updates from the original selling dealership. Showing only 3,372 miles when catalogued, the 458 Spider is documented with an accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report and is in outstanding mechanical condition as befitting its low mileage. Uniquely appointed and impeccably presented, this Ferrari 458 Spider is a true Italian thoroughbred with formidable performance.
