Unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show, the GT4 was the first Cayman model to carry the “GT” designation. Based on the Type 981 Cayman introduced in 2012, the mid-engine GT4 borrowed its 385 hp naturally aspirated flat-six from the 991 Carrera S, while its front suspension and steering came from the track-oriented GT3. Available only with a six-speed manual gearbox, the GT4 was visually distinguished from lesser Caymans by a more aggressive front fascia with a deeper splitter, upgraded side inlets, and a fixed rear wing. As proof of concept, Porsche lapped a Cayman GT4 on the North Loop at Nürburgring in seven minutes, 40 seconds – the same pace as a 2011 911 GT3.
This 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 was supplied new in Zuffenhausen through Porsche’s factory delivery program in April 2016. Finished in paint-to-sample Signal Yellow over black leather with Racing Yellow stitching, this GT4 was ordered with the track in mind and specified without air-conditioning or radio. Other equipment highlights include Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, larger 16.9-gallon fuel tank, lightweight battery, Sport Chrono package, fire extinguisher, and interior upgrades in Alcantara, aluminum, and leather for a total MSRP of $117,190.
With less than 500 miles on its odometer, this GT4 presents in pristine condition throughout and is offered with books, tools, keys, and original accessories. Produced for one year only, and in limited numbers, the sale of this sensationally capable GT4 should not be overlooked.
