Les Leston Two-Piece Driving Suit, Made in England, c. 1965

A lovely Les Leston suit that, according to the consignor, was worn by Hill at the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he and Chris Amon drove a GT40 for Carroll Shelby. Hill had placed the Mark II Ford on pole position by more than five seconds over the Ferrari 330 P2 driven by Surtees/Scarfiotti. Clutch problems sidelined the car in the seventh hour, but not before Hill had set a new lap record trying to make up time lost in the pits for repairs.
