An important and unique artifact of Hill's later career. This wonderful and well-worn helmet was used extensively by Hill in the mid-1960s. He wore it during his time as a Ford development and GT40 driver, on the Shelby Cobra team, and throughout the Chaparral years. Races in which Hill wore the helmet, according to the consignor, include the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans, where Hill placed the GT40 on pole position and set the fastest race lap, victories at the 1966 Nürburgring 1000 Km (Chaparral 2D), the 1966 Laguna Seca Can-Am (Chaparral 2E), and during the victorious ending to his long storied career with a win at the 1967 BOAC 500 at Brands Hatch (Chaparral 2F). Accompanied by assorted visors and a face shield.
