Gooding Christie’s will hold its inaugural European sale as Rétromobile’s official auction house this coming January in Paris during the 50th edition of the globally renowned automotive event.

Taking place at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Gooding Christie’s first French auction will present unique opportunities for global buyers and sellers, especially those transacting in the EU, to participate in the very first installment of this exciting new partnership between the two international brands. The Paris Auction will feature headlining cars from Ferrari, Bugatti, and Talbot-Lago, ranging from Classic Era elegance to modern supercar marvels. Bidder Registration

To ease the registration process, we encourage all bidders who plan to attend the auction to pre-register online with their preferred bidding method in advance of the auction.

Please note: Bidders must separately obtain admission to the Rétromobile event.

In-Person Bidding

Includes two reserved auction seats (subject to availability). Please register in advance at the Christie’s website: christies.com.

Our on-site Bidder Registration desk can assist you in-person at Rétromobile. You can complete any paperwork there and retrieve your auction credentials prior to entry to the viewing or auction.

Online Bidding

Registration must be completed online at christies.com, or via the Christie’s mobile app available on iOS or Android. This sale is being conducted on the Christie’s Live platform, and will not be available on Gooding’s legacy applications.

Telephone & Absentee Bidding

Registration for both of these methods is available through the christies.com website and must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the sale.

Ticketing

Christie’s is not responsible for the sale, availability, or distribution of Rétromobile entry tickets.

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)

The closest international airport is approximately 25 miles from Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. It is approximately a 50-minute car ride. Major rental car companies are available at CDG.

Public Transportation

By Metro: For Line 12, Porte de Versailles station and use exit 2 to access Pavilion 7. For Line 8, Balard station.
By Tramway: For Lines T2 and T3a, Porte de Versailles - Parc des Expositions station.
By Car: Please use the Porte de Versailles exit off the ring road. Once at Porte de Versailles there are various public car park structures available. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.

This important information for buyers guide is provided for guidance only. All lots are sold subject to the Conditions of Sale, which govern all aspects of the auction and take precedence. Terms used but not defined below will have the meaning assigned in the Conditions of Sale.

REGISTERING TO BID / PARTICIPATING IN THE AUCTION

Prospective bidders may register to bid by email to BidsParis@christies.com, by telephone at +33 (0) 1 40 76 84 13, on-during viewing hours, or online at www.christies.com.

Bids may be placed by absentee bid, telephone bid, or online via Christie’s LIVE™. Further information on registering and bidding is available at christies.com/en/help/buying-guide/register-and-bid.

All bidders must provide valid identification and may be required to provide financial references and source-of-funds information in accordance with applicable anti-money laundering and sanctions laws. Registration should be completed well in advance of the auction.

Bidder paddles for in-room bidding will be available for collection at the Registration Desk during viewing hours and on the day of the auction. Each bidder is responsible for all bids made using their paddle.

All bidding will be in euros (€), and all invoices will be issued in euros.

INSPECTION OF LOTS

All lots are available for inspection prior to the auction. As explained more fully in the Conditions of Sale, bidders are invited and strongly encouraged to conduct, and must solely rely upon, their own independent inspection and examination of any lot and all matters relating thereto before placing any bid. BUYER’S PREMIUM

In addition to the hammer price, the buyer is required to pay a buyer’s premium, calculated as follows (exclusive of VAT):

Cars & Motorcycles: 15% of the hammer price up to and including €200,000, and 12.5% of the portion of the hammer price above €200,000

Automobilia: 25% of the hammer price

The buyer’s premium is payable in addition to the hammer price and any applicable taxes, duties, or other charges.


TAXES AND VAT

Where a vehicle is sold under standard VAT rules, VAT will be payable on both the hammer price and the buyer’s premium. Where a vehicle is sold under another applicable VAT regime, VAT may be payable on the buyer’s premium only.

Additional fees or taxes may be payable depending on the lot and its destination, and certain lots may be subject to special VAT treatment, customs duties, or other taxes, as indicated by symbols next to the lot number in the catalogue and/or by announcements made by the auctioneer during the auction.

Buyers are responsible for determining the tax consequences applicable to their purchases and are strongly encouraged to obtain independent tax advice. Full details are set out in the conditions of sale.


PAYMENT

Payment of the full purchase price must be received by Christie’s by 17.00 CET on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Payments made by anyone other than the registered buyer will not be accepted.

COLLECTION, TRANSPORT, AND STORAGE

Removal from the Auction Site
Buyers will not be permitted to collect lots directly from the Porte de Versailles. Following the auction, all lots will be removed from the auction venue and transported to a third-party storage facility at the buyer’s risk and expense. The address of the storage facility will be provided with the invoice and payment instructions.

Handling Fee
€650 (exclusive of VAT) per vehicle lot

Collection from the Storage Facility
Lots may be collected from the storage facility listed on the buyer’s invoice beginning on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, by appointment only and only after full payment in cleared funds of the purchase price and all other amounts due to Christie’s has been received. Collection appointments must be arranged at least 24 hours in advance by contacting postsaleparis@christies.com.

Deadline for Collection and Storage Charges
Lots must be collected no later than 17.00 CET on Friday, February 13, 2026. Lots not collected by this date may incur storage charges, as set out in the Conditions of Sale. After that time, the buyer will be charged €50 (exclusive of VAT) per day, per lot, for storage.

Transport and Insurance
The buyer is solely responsible for arranging transport and insurance of any lot following the auction. Christie’s may provide contact details for third-party transporters or customs agents as a courtesy only and accepts no liability for their acts or omissions.

Export Licences
Certain vehicle lots may require an export license and/or French cultural property passport in order to leave France. Such documentation is administrative only and does not constitute any guarantee as to authenticity. The requirement to obtain such documentation, or any delay in obtaining it, does not affect the buyer’s obligation to pay all amounts owed to Christie’s. Where such documentation is required, release of the vehicle may be delayed following the auction and additional storage charges may be owed by the buyer.

Vehicles Under Customs / Temporary Admission
Certain vehicles may be subject to customs duties or temporary admission regimes and cannot be released to the Buyer or their transport agent until all applicable customs and administrative requirements have been satisfied. Christie’s may be required, as customs guarantor, to ensure proper clearance prior to release.

Vehicles Over 75 Years Old
Please note that vehicles over 75 years old, with a value of €50,000 or more, located in France may require a French cultural property certificate or other export documentation in order to leave France. Applicable requirements and any supporting documentation are determined by the relevant French authorities.
