As the successor to the B10, the Citroën B12 debuted at the October 1925 Paris Motor Show and was available for sale through January 1927. Both the B12 and its predecessor utilized innovative and industry-leading tout acier (all-steel) bodywork standard. The 1,452 cc four-cylinder engine was also shared with the B10, yielding a 10 hp (or 10 CV) taxable power rating. Several open and closed body styles heightened the B12’s versatility in the Citroën tradition. Nearly 38,400 examples were built in all.

This B12 is a particularly rare and compelling example, featuring handsome wooden bodywork by the Danos coachbuilding firm in Aurignac, France, according to the manufacturer’s plate affixed to the vehicle. The dashboard displays the name Augustus Caussade, a baker also from Aurignac, who was presumably the original owner of this distinctive Citroën B12. Later, it was owned by André Trigano, the prolific racer and collector, who was part of the French Resistance during WWII and went on to success in his family’s camping-gear business, as well as multiple terms as a mayor and representative to the French National Assembly.

A restoration of the B12 was completed under M. Trigano, which addressed the striking wooden bodywork, mechanicals, and brown leatherette upholstery, including a useful rear bench seat. This handsome Citroën B12 Estate Wagon was acquired by the Mullin Collection in early 2016.
