When brothers Maurice and Georges Sizaire founded Sizaire-Frères in 1920, they were already well established in the French automobile industry, having founded two Parisian-based automotive manufacturing companies, Sizaire-Naudin as well as Sizaire-Berwick, around the turn of the century.

The automobile industry was changing at a rapid pace, and the brothers needed a model that would keep up with the technological innovations of the day. The new 4RI featured fully independent suspension, further refining the independent sliding-pillar suspension which Sizaire’s earlier Sizaire-Naudin automobiles were equipped with.

Powered by a single overhead camshaft, four-cylinder engine and capable of 70 mph, the 4RI debuted in competition and earned the company a 2nd place finish at the 1926 Monte Carlo Rallye with Pierre Bussiene at the wheel.

While the earliest history of this 4RI 11CV Berline is unknown, it was stored in Malmerspach, France within the Schlumpf Reserve Collection for many years prior to the Mullin Collection acquiring it in 2008. With its handsome Weymann Berline coachwork, this Sizaire-Frères presents its next owner with the exciting choice of restoration or display in as-found condition.

*Please note that all of the Lots in this Auction have been in long-term static storage at the Mullin Automotive Museum and may not be currently operational. They will require mechanical attention and in some cases significant restoration prior to any road use.
