Featuring an all-new and lighter-weight chassis and all-steel bodywork, the B14 continued to improve Citroën’s characteristically advanced and effective engineering principles with a smoother-running engine and new four-wheel brakes. Initially powered by a 1,539 cc four-cylinder powerplant, subsequently upsized to 1,628 cc, the B14 was offered in three progressively improved iterations from 1926 through 1928. Introduction of the B14, which superseded the B12, took place at the October 1926 Paris Motor Show. As always, a wide and versatile array of open- and closed-body styles were available and period Citroën advertisements emphasized the comfort afforded by the new B14 chassis.

This handsome and well-proportioned B14 from 1928 features the two-passenger faux cabriolet body style. While little is known about its early history, according to a Bill of Sale on file, it was sold from France to a Belgian owner in 1971. Also on file is a letter dated 1972 from Citroën confirming this car’s type (B14), chassis number (362955), engine number (4706 YB), and build date (1928). Subsequently, the B14 was repatriated to France and in 2010, a Carte Grise registration document was issued for it. Prior to acquisition by the Mullin Collection, the B14 was adorned with painted accents in the style of famed French artist Sonia Delaunay, who was one of only a handful of living artists honored by exhibitions at the Louvre. In 2016, the B14 was acquired by the Mullin Collection, and it formed part of the special Citroën exhibit at the Mullin Automotive Museum.
