Introduced in 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show to immediate acclaim, the Jaguar E-Type stunned the automotive world with its aerodynamic shape and race-derived engineering. Its combination of striking styling, advanced engineering, and remarkable performance established new standards for the modern sports car. Chassis 876073, completed on November 9, 1961, was distributed through Jaguar Cars New York and sold in June 1962 via Kansas dealer M. Heath to its first owner, local resident D.R. Fairchild. In 1999, the Jaguar was acquired by Roger Los, a passionate enthusiast and founder of xkedata.com, a comprehensive online registry and resource for Jaguar collectors. An extensively photo-documented restoration by Seattle-area specialists followed. This work entailed a bare-metal refinish in its original Opalescent Silver Grey, a retrim of its interior in red leather, and a rebuild of its engine and Moss four-speed gearbox. Los estimated that approximately 2,500 hours were spent on the restoration, which included upgraded brake calipers, an upgraded radiator, and KONI front shocks. Acquired by the current owner in 2019, the E-Type is offered with a hardtop, a copy of its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate, a tool kit, and extensive restoration records and photographs. Chassis 876073 represents an opportunity to acquire a gorgeous early E-Type of exceptional specification.
