Of all Corvettes, and classic sports cars for that matter, the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray is a true must-have for serious automobile collectors and enthusiasts. While the 1963 debut of the C2 is best known for the launch of the first Corvette coupe, affectionately known as the split-window, Chevrolet continued to offer the Corvette in roadster form, as it had since 1953.

This highly desirable roadster is powered by the RPO (Regular Production Option) L76 327 cid V-8 engine, factory rated at 340 hp – second only to the exotic and expensive L84 fuel-injected unit – and mated to a Muncie M20 four-speed manual gearbox. It was purchased by Mark Smith from a dealer in Minnesota circa 2019, and the advertisement on file from that sale indicates that this Corvette retained its original interior, soft top, hardtop, and much of its original paint.

Now showing just 54,520 miles at the time of cataloguing, the Corvette presents very well, and is attractive in its dark blue over blue color combination, which corresponds to its fitted trim tag. With its high-specification engine and well-kept cosmetics, this 1963 Roadster should demand serious attention from Corvette collectors.
