Encouraged by the racing results achieved with the modified 750 S and 750 SF during 1969 and 1970, Laverda created the 750 SFC (C for Competizione) for 1971. The 750 SFC proved immediately successful, and it was the SFC’s prowess in endurance racing between 1971 and 1973 that created Laverda’s reputation for robustness and exceptional all-around performance. For 1974, the 750 SFC was updated with a new engine and chassis, and with the US importer Continental Motors enthusiastically promoting the marque, they commissioned two batches of 50 examples of the 750 SFC. While these differed slightly in equipment, the engine and chassis specifications were the same as the European model.

According to factory records held by authority Marnix Van Der Schalk, this US-specification 1974 Laverda 750 SFC left the Laverda factory in Breganze, Italy, on June 4, 1974. It subsequently spent some time as a racing machine and was disassembled. The current owner commissioned a ground-up restoration to the highest standard by Laverda specialist Scott Potter, documented with over 100 photos on file. The restoration was undertaken with care, retaining many original features, in particular the factory fiberglass stamps and correct seat rivets. The SFC is fitted with a steel tank for usability, but the original fiberglass tank accompanies the bike at auction. Additionally, the Laverda is documented with a report by marque specialist Peter Boggia.

This 750 SFC has been meticulously and accurately restored and is beautifully presented. One the most striking motorcycles of the era, this SFC is a rare and historically significant classic. This is a fantastic opportunity to acquire a superb example of one of the finest Italian sporting motorcycles of the 1970s.
