Debuted at the 1975 Paris Motor Show, the Ferrari 308 GTB was the successor to the Dino, and the manufacturers’ first two-seat sports car with a mid-mounted V-8. Powered by a 2.9-liter DOHC V-8, the 308 GTB produces 240 hp, sending power to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle. The car features fully independent suspension and disc brakes at all four wheels. Constructed with fiberglass bodies prior to June 1977, on offer here is one of the earliest steel 308 GTBs built.
This 1977 Ferrari 308 GTB is an original US-delivery car, showing approximately 15,000 miles. Finished in its original color of Oro Chiaro Metallizzato (Light Gold Metallic) over Nero (Black) leather interior, the car was purchased on July 13, 1977, at Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo in Portland, Oregon. It remained with the original owner until 2014, when it was acquired by a collector in Europe. Having undergone careful reconditioning over the years both aesthetically and mechanically, the interior of the vehicle appears largely original.
The car is accompanied by a leather case containing a Ferrari service book, owner’s manual, purchase documents, and service records dating back to new. The 308’s period license plates are also included, as are registration documents and correspondence from Ferrari of North America. Chassis 21127 offers a fantastic opportunity to own an early, carbureted 308 GTB presented in its appealing and rare original color combination, ready to be driven and enjoyed.
