1979 Porsche 928

Unveiled at the 1977 Geneva Motor Show, the Porsche 928 was a groundbreaking GT car designed to replace the iconic 911. Styled by Wolfgang Möbius, the 928 paired distinctive aerodynamic bodywork with a front-mounted, water-cooled V-8.

This early-production 1979 928 was delivered new through Brumos Porsche-Audi on December 29, 1978. Finished in Silver Metallic over Cork leatherette and Pasha cloth upholstery, it is equipped with the desirable five-speed manual transaxle. Additional features included 16” phone-dial alloy wheels, air-conditioning, and a Porsche-branded cassette stereo.

This Porsche’s rare and charismatic Pasha interior is believed by the consignor to be original, and a previous owner who bought the car in 1980 noted that he always used seat covers, with a towel in between for added protection. Various manufacturer stickers and rarely seen original accessories further highlight the car’s originality. Displaying less than 48,000 miles at the time of cataloguing, this 928 is accompanied by its original bill of sale, invoices, books, tools, jack, and documentation. Increasingly difficult to find in such preserved condition, early five-speed 928s are especially sought after – particularly examples retaining the clean, spoiler-free purity of the original design.
