Introduced at the 1981 Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany, the Ferrari 512 BBi was a minor refresh of its predecessor, the 512 BB, with one notable exception – the addition of Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. Owners lauded the BBi’s refinement and driveability over the 512 BB, with easy starts, smooth acceleration, and 20 additional lbs./ft. of torque.

This striking Ferrari 512 BBi was built in the final year of production. As a 1984 model, it is one of approximately 144 examples produced, making it the rarest and most sought-after of the fuel-injected Berlinetta Boxers. Finished in classic Rosso Corsa (Racing Red), the elegant Pininfarina design strikes an athletic and classic image. Its five-liter Ferrari 12-cylinder produces 340 bhp and 333 lbs./ft. of torque. Shifted through a five-speed transaxle and gated shifter, 60 mph arrives in just 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 174 mph. Owned by Donald L. Weber for roughly 30 years, this car has been fastidiously maintained and beautifully preserved. In 2014, showing just 15,212 miles, it received a major service at Ferrari of Newport Beach, which included cam belts and seals, spark plugs, and pertinent fluids.

Offered with manuals in its folio, documentation, receipts, and spare keys, this final-year Ferrari 512 BBi would be a fitting addition to any Ferrari collection or stands ready to carry its next owner on wonderful open-road adventures, surrounded by the unmistakable soundtrack of a screaming Ferrari flat 12-cylinder engine.
