1996 Vector M12

The product of a fascinating chapter in American supercar history, the Vector M12 was introduced in 1996 and combined the dramatic, fighter-jetinspired styling of the proposed Vector WX-3 with Lamborghini engineering, resulting in one of the rarest and most distinctive supercars of the era. Just 14 production examples were completed before the project came to an end. Built around a lengthened Lamborghini Diablo chassis, the M12 was powered by the Diablo’s mid-mounted 5.7-liter quad-cam V-12, delivering nearly 500 hp through a ZF five-speed manual transaxle. Independent coil-over suspension, Brembo disc brakes, and an unmistakable wedge-shaped design endowed the M12 with dramatic performance to match its uncompromising appearance.

Completed in March 1996 as the fourth production M12, this example was reportedly driven by Jeremy Clarkson for a period Top Gear road test. It later spent more than a decade in long-term ownership before receiving cosmetic and mechanical attention, including a repaint. In current ownership, the M12 has received further cosmetic and mechanical work at supercar specialist Curated in Miami.

Showing less than 4,500 miles when catalogued, the Vector is accompanied by service records, owner’s manuals, and other period literature. One of the rarest road-going supercars of the 1990s, the M12 represents a remarkable fusion of American ambition and Italian engineering.
