Inspired by the race cars used in Ferrari’s popular 360 Challenge series, as well as international GT endurance series since 2001, the limited-edition, track-oriented Challenge Stradale was introduced in 2003, offering increased performance through engine tuning, revised aerodynamics, a lower and stiffer suspension, carbon ceramic brakes, a more minimal lightweight interior, and carbon fiber racing seats. Air-conditioning was standard and one of the only compromises to broaden the appeal of the car. Weighing 240 pounds less than a 360 Modena and with increased power, braking, and downforce, the Challenge Stradale was capable of reaching 0 to 60 in 4.1 seconds – four-tenths faster than a standard Modena – and lapped Ferrari’s Fiorano test track 3.5 seconds faster.

The 360 Challenge Stradale presented here is an exceptional, time capsule example finished in the definitive specification: Rosso Scuderia with red and black Alcantara upholstery. According to factory records, this radio-delete Challenge Stradale was specified with the optional Tricolore (Tricolor) racing stripe, Rosso Scuderia brake calipers, and a fire extinguisher; features that enhance its thoroughbred nature.

One of only 1,288 Challenge Stradales built, and among the 378 built for the North American market, this example was delivered new via Ferrari of Ontario to Natale Rea in August 2004. Copley Motorcars Inc. acquired the 186-km Ferrari in 2015 and commissioned specialist The Boston Sportscar Company to perform a major service, including replacement of the timing belt and new Pirelli tires. The consignor acquired the Challenge Stradale in 2017 and authorized Ferrari dealer Continental AutoSports to convert the car to full US specifications, including the installation of a new climate control panel and instrument cluster, properly programmed to reflect the car’s actual mileage at that time: 296 km (184 miles). At the same time, Ferrari Classiche Red Book certification was applied for and completed.

In 2021, the consignor’s in-house Ferrari-trained mechanic prepared the Challenge Stradale for the FCA Annual Experience in Sebring, Florida, where it earned a Platinum Award with a perfect 100-point score. The Ferrari Classiche Red Book, along with the car’s books, tool kit, car cover, service records, and original Canadian-specification instrument cluster accompany the sale. It presents in immaculate condition as one might expect, showing just 211 miles at the time of cataloguing.

Nearly two decades since its introduction, the Challenge Stradale has come to be recognized as one of Ferrari’s best limited-production, track-focused models, a credit to its pure, enthusiast-oriented nature and visceral driving dynamics. This offering represents a unique opportunity to acquire one of these rare and desirable Ferrari supercars in exceptional, nearly new condition.
