The Most Powerful 991-Generation Customer Competition Porsche

Representing the ultimate evolution of Porsche’s 991 generation, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport stands among the most extreme customer competition cars produced by the marque. Introduced at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show as a turnkey machine for global track-day and Clubsport competition, the GT2 RS Clubsport distilled the performance of the road-going GT2 RS into a purpose-built racing platform and, in doing so, became the most powerful customer GT car ever offered by Porsche Motorsport.

At its heart lies a 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged flat-six engine producing 700 hp and 553 lbs./ft. of torque. While sharing its architecture with the standard GT2 RS, the Clubsport’s engine benefits from several motorsport-focused revisions, including a redesigned intercooler and a water-spray system intended to reduce intake temperatures during sustained high-load operation. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a rigidly mounted seven-speed Porsche PDK dual-clutch transaxle, and the Clubsport features a revised exhaust system and three-way adjustable dampers.

Weight reduction was a principal focus of the GT2 RS Clubsport’s development. Carbon fiberreinforced plastic (CFRP) was employed for the roof, front trunk lid, front bumper, doors, rear bodywork, and rear deck lid, reducing weight by about 175 pounds over the standard GT2 RS. Porsche quoted a power-to-weight ratio of just 4.3 pounds per horsepower, a 0–60 mph time of 2.7 seconds, and a top speed of 211 mph.

As expected of a dedicated competition car, the GT2 RS Clubsport dispensed with unnecessary comfort equipment in favor of race-oriented features. Equipment includes an integrated safety cage, onboard data system, 115-liter FT3 safety fuel cell, airjack system, and an FIA-approved Recaro racing seat equipped with a six-point harness.

Built by Porsche Motorsport in Flacht, Germany, the birthplace of the 911 GT3 Cup, 911 RSR, and 919 Hybrid, this example is one of only 200 GT2 RS Clubsports produced worldwide. Finished in Pure White and presented without a racing livery, it offers a particularly clean and understated appearance that emphasizes the model’s functional design. Airconditioning and heat add to its overall usability.

The consignor reports that the Porsche was recently serviced, is documented with records, and was prepared for track events, including outings at Sebring International Raceway in Florida. Designed from the outset for circuit use, the GT2 RS Clubsport was engineered to be exercised and maintained as a dedicated track machine. Equally suited to track-day events, competitive outings, or inclusion within a motorsport-focused collection, this GT2 RS Clubsport represents the final and most focused expression of the Type 991 generation.
