Conceived as the most focused open-air model of the 991 generation, the Speedster paired a sleek, sporting appearance with engineering from the firm’s exceptional GT-series cars. Production was limited to 1,948 examples, commemorating the year the first Porsche sports car was completed.

More than an enhanced 911 Cabriolet, the Speedster incorporated key hardware from the acclaimed 991.2 GT3. Its naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six produced 502 hp at 8,400 rpm with a 9,000 rpm redline. Offered exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox, the Speedster could accelerate from 0–60 mph in 3.8 seconds and achieve 192 mph.

The GT3 influence extended to its rear-wheel steering, dynamic engine mounts, and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes. Carbon fiber-reinforced plastic was used for the hood, front fenders, and double-bubble rear deck. A lower, steeply raked windscreen and abbreviated side glass completed a profile that recalled earlier Porsche Speedsters without resorting to retro styling. Speaking to Road & Track in April 2019, Porsche’s director of GT cars explained that the Speedster had been developed in parallel with the 911 R, calling them “an open and a closed version of a purist’s car.”

Delivered new in Canada, this 2019 Porsche 991 Speedster is finished in Jet Black Metallic with a black fabric top over a black leather interior distinguished by extensive red contrast stitching. Its factory specification included the Chrono Package, front-axle lift system, 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, seat heating, an extended-range fuel tank, two-zone climate control, and a BOSE Surround Sound System. Numerous carbon fiber and leather appointments elevated the cabin, while other options included black LED headlights with PDLS, painted side skirts, carbon fiber upper trim for its SportDesign mirrors, and illuminated carbon fiber doorsill guards. Red seatbelts and a red 12 o’clock marker on the steering wheel provided restrained accents of color within the purposeful cabin.

Displaying less than 2,900 miles when catalogued, this Speedster is documented with a detailed binder containing factory build information and service invoices. The Porsche is further accompanied at auction by manuals and a factory Speedster car cover. An accompanying invoice from 2019 records the application of full-body XPEL self-healing paint-protection film, XPEL window tint film, and a five-year ceramic coating, work that totaled nearly CAD $10,000.

Accompanying records and its CARFAX Vehicle History Report document servicing in Ontario, Canada by Porsche Centre London, Porsche Centre Vaughan, and Pfaff Tuning. In May 2026, at approximately 4,600 km (2,858 miles), Pfaff Tuning changed the engine oil and filter, flushed the brake fluid, and completed a drivability and performance inspection.

Few modern Porsches combine the Speedster’s visual drama with such focused GT3-derived engineering. Tastefully specified and sparingly driven, this Speedster is an especially compelling example of one of the most desirable road-going models of the 991 era.
