The Delage GL, or Grande Luxe, was designed in 1923 to garner a share of the high-end luxury market dominated by marques like Rolls-Royce and Hispano-Suiza. Fitted with an advanced X- member chassis and a powerful overhead-valve inline six-cylinder engine, the GL was built in a very small number with only approximately 180 chassis being manufactured throughout the production run.

The Mullin Collection acquired this circa 1924 Delage as a restoration project in 2004 via Charles Bronson. Correspondence on file details restoration work for the fabrication of the Labourdette-style skiff body, fenders and belly pans that were constructed in the UK, as well as plans for future mechanical and assembly work to take place at restoration shops located in California and Colorado. The Delage was returned to the museum in 2015 partially assembled and accompanied by multiple boxes of plated parts and restored pieces. At the time of cataloguing, the accompanying items were unboxed and photographed. The Mullin Museum has installed many parts on the Delage to aid in assessing the vehicle in advance of the auction. Rare when new, this highly detailed Delage could serve as a solid foundation for a rewarding restoration project.
